The cast and crew of the AMC series are back to work on the set in Georgia, less than a week after stuntman John Bernecker fell more than 20 feet onto a concrete floor.

AceShowbiz - "The Walking Dead" has resumed production after it was temporarily shut down following an on-set accident involving stuntman John Bernecker. AMC confirmed on Monday that the cast and crew were back to work on the set in Georgia, Atlanta, less than a week after the tragic accident.

Bernecker suffered "serious injuries" after he fell more than 20 feet onto a concrete floor on Wednesday. He was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was later declared brain-dead. A ventilator was withdrawn overnight on July 13-14.

AMC and showrunner Scott M. Gimple released statements following his passing. "John Bernecker's family has decided that he will be removed from life support, following organ donation," AMC said in a statement released on Friday. "We are deeply saddened by this loss and our hearts and prayers are with John's family, friends and colleagues during this extremely difficult time."

Gimple stated, "Our production is heartbroken by the tragic loss of John Bernecker. John's work on 'The Walking Dead' and dozens of other movies and shows will continue to entertain and excite audiences for generations. We are grateful for his contributions, and all of us send our condolences, love, and prayers to John's family and friends."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan and Norman Reedus were among stars of the show who sent their condolences.
