The British actor has revealed that the former Stormtrooper of the First Order will embark on a 'dark mission' in the eighth installment of the 'Star Wars' movie series.

AceShowbiz - John Boyega will reprise his role as Finn in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", and the actor has revealed new details about his character. Speaking to Access Hollywood at D23 Expo over the weekend, the British actor said that the former Stormtrooper of the First Order would go on a "dark mission."

"It's gonna be lots of fighting for Finn. A lot of running, a lot of shooting," Boyega said of Finn, who had been wounded by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and separated from Rey (Daisy Ridley) as she left to look for Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". "It's a really dark mission," the actor noted.

During the interview, Boyega admitted that he's still not fully adjusted to the attention that comes with appearing in the saga, despite this being his second "Star Wars" movie. "I think my ears have now gotten used to it, but the experience of it all ... you never get used to it," he explained.

"I mean, people you don't know are just screaming and rightly so. Doing amazing things with this franchise and this movie, so it's a nice way of showing love to the fans and them showing love to you, too. So it's cool," he added.

The first footage from the eighth installment of the "Star Wars" movie series has recently been released by Disney, showing Finn and new character Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) both being imprisoned and undercover as First Order officers. Fans can see the former Stormtrooper back in action in "The Last Jedi" on December 15 in U.S. theaters.

The Rian Johnson-directed movie also sees the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Andy Serkis as Snoke.
