Everybody's talking about the 'Shape of You' hitmaker's guest appearance which features him singing and sharing screen with Maisie Williams (Arya).

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran stole the show during "Game of Thrones" season 7 premiere. The English singer/songwriter appeared in the July 16 episode titled "Dragonstone", playing [SPOILER ALERT!] a Lannister soldier whom Arya (Maisie Williams) ran into in the woods.

Previously, there were other famous faces like Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Will Champion from Coldplay, Sigur Ros and Mastodon making cameos on the hit HBO series, but Ed's cameo is memorable as he sang in the episode. The song, which he said "a new one," was actually from lyrics in George R.R. Martin's novel "A Dance with Dragons" where they were sung by a drunk Tyrion.

"He rode through the streets of the city/ Down from his hill on high/ O'er the winds and the steps and the cobbles/ He rode to a woman's sigh/ For she was his secret treasure/ She was his shame and his bliss/ And a chain and a keep are nothing/ Compared to a woman's kiss/ For hands of gold are always cold/ But a woman's hands are warm," the lyrics read.

Fans of the series took to Twitter to comment on Ed's appearance. "@edsheeran deserves an Oscar for 'Supporting actor on a TV series,' " one wrote.

Actress Patti Murin tweeted, "What if one of the #GameofThrones spinoffs is just Ed Sheeran and his boy band wandering around having adventures."

Ed, meanwhile, took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his scene on "Game of Thrones". "Throwback to the time I was a Lannister," he captioned it.
