AceShowbiz - Avan Jogia broke his silence on the "Aladdin" rumor after he was rumored to be circling the lead role. The "Victorious" alum was reportedly considered for the role after he sent in an audition tape where he sang a song from the classic animated film.
Director Guy Ritchie remained silent on the buzzing rumor, but the actor responded in a tweet. "Though I am flattered by all the support, there is something to be said about not believing everything you can read," so the former Nickelodeon star wrote.

Rumor has it, Disney is eying someone of Middle-Eastern or Indian descent for the male lead. Dutch actor Achraf Koutet, Canadian actor Mena Massoud and American George Kosturos are among the rumored candidates. Naomi Scott ("Power Rangers") and Indian actress Tara Sutaria are eyed for the role of Jasmine while Will Smith is expected to play Genie.
