The 'Deadpool' actor has reportedly 'loose discussions' to headline the upcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy's novel.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Reynolds is reportedly circling an adaptation of Tom Clancy's novel "Rainbow Six". According to Deadline, the "Deadpool" actor has "loose discussions" to play the lead role in the upcoming action movie.

The project is developed by Akiva Goldsman. It focuses on John Clark, a mercenary originated in Clancy's popular Jack Ryan novel series. The character was played by Willem Dafoe in a 1994 Jack Ryan movie called "Clear and Present Danger" and then portrayed by Liev Schreiber in 2002's "The Sum of All Fears".

The latest Jack Ryan adaptation was released in 2014. "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" starred Chris Pine and Keira Knightley. Now the character is being brought to the small screen by Amazon in a new series. John Krasinski ("The Office") has landed the lead role.
