The late-night comedy show and the science fiction western thriller series each earns 22 nominations.

AceShowbiz - The nominees competing for the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced. The honorees were annouced at the Television Academy's Wolf Theatre at the Saban Media Center in North Hollywood by Anna Chlumsky ("Veep") and Shemar Moore ("S.W.A.T.") along with Television Academy CEO Hayma Washington.
NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and HBO's "Westworld" lead the pack with 22 nominations each. Netflix's "Stranger Things" followed behind with 18 nominations. HBO lead all the networks with 110 nominations, while Netflix comes in second with 91 nominations.
Besides "Westworld", freshmen hits like "The Crown", "The Handmaid's Tale" and "This Is Us" are also nominated for Best Drama Series. While "Black-ish", "Modern Family", "Silicon Valley", "Transparent" and "Veep" are battling for Best Comedy Series.
The awards show will air live on September 17 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Stephen Colbert will host the ceremony, which will be broadcast by CBS at 5 P.M. PT. In addition, this year's Creative Arts Emmys will air the weekend before, on September 9-10.
