'American Idol' Alum Haley Reinhart Arrested for Battery

The 26-year-old singer allegedly punched a bouncer who tossed her and her friends out after they knocked over a table at the Lamplighter Inn.

AceShowbiz - Haley Reinhart, best known as "American Idol" season 10 contestant, was arrested on Saturday, July 8 after involved in an altercation at a bar outside Chicago. Haley was charged with battery after allegedly punching a bouncer in Palatine, Ill.

TMZ reported that the 26-year-old singer and her friends allegedly knocked over a table at the Lamplighter Inn, before the bouncers tossed out the group. While being escorted, Haley threw a punch at the bouncer.

Cops reportedly arrived at around 2 A.M. Haley was taken into custody and booked for battery. She is expected to attend a court trial which is scheduled for August 2.

"Without provocation, Haley Reinhart was assaulted by bouncers at the Lamplighter Inn," Haley's lawyer Dina LaPolt said in a statement. "After forcefully removing Ms. Reinhart, they violently beat her friend, who sustained multiple injuries. We believe that she will be exonerated of all charges once the investigation is completed. We plan on taking legal action against all those who were involved in this unfortunate incident."

Haley placed third place on the 10th season of "American Idol" behind runner-up Lauren Alaina and winner Scotty McCreery. After taking part on the singing competition, Haley released two albums, 2012's "Listen Up!" and 2016's "Better". Her third album, a collection of '60s covers called "What's That Sound", is scheduled to be released on September 22. She currently stars on Netflix's "F Is for Family".
