Peter M. Lenkov says in a statement, 'The actors were getting unprecedented raises, but in the end they chose to move on.'

AceShowbiz - Peter M. Lenkov broke his silence on the drama surrounding the departures of Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park from his TV series "Hawaii Five-0". The showrunner said, "CBS was extremely generous and proactive in their renegotiation talks. So much so, the actors were getting unprecedented raises, but in the end they chose to move on."

While Kim cited salary dispute as the reason of his exit, Park remained silence. In his statement, Lenkov commented on Park's decision to quit the show, "After being away from her family for seven years, I understood Grace's decision to leave. There was an opportunity for her to return for a handful of episodes, but for several reasons that didn't work out."

CBS confirmed that they did offer the stars "large and significant salary increase" but it was apparently not enough. "CBS and I weren't able to agree to terms on a new contract," Kim said. "The path to equality is rarely easy."
