The Canadian rapper flew back to his hometown of Toronto to make a special appearance at Canada 150 event on Sunday, July 2.

AceShowbiz - Drake surprised his hometown crowd when he popped up at Canada Day festivities, which celebrated the country's 150th anniversary, in Toronto over the weekend. Performing at Nathan Philips Squares, the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker belted out some of his hit songs, including "Jumpman", "Fake Love" and "Gyalchester".
Before kicking off his set, Drizzy paid tribute to Canadian natives and immigrants. "When we celebrate Canada, we celebrate all of these individuals from all places that came here and found solitude in this beautiful country," he told the crowd. "We celebrate our indigenous people. We celebrate the land that we're standing on tonight. I just came for the party, though, I'm not gonna lie."
Following his electrifying performance, the 30-year-old rapper decided to stick around to watch fireworks. He later took to Instagram to share a photo which saw him and his team from OVO Sound label enjoying the evening's firework celebration.
Drake is scheduled to headline the 8th annual OVO Fest next month. Fans who missed the rapper's set over the weekend will get a chance to watch Drake's live performance on August 7 at the Budwiser Stage in Toronto.
Drake seems to love making surprise appearances. Prior to this, he crashed Metro Boomin's set at EDC. He also popped up at French Montana's show last month. In May, he sent fans into frenzy when he unexpectedly teamed up with The Weeknd on "Starboy: Legend of the Fall" tour in Toronto.
