AceShowbiz - Hip-hop stars stepped out on Thursday, June 29 to pay their respects at Prodigy's funeral in New York City. 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Remy Ma, Ice-T and Fat Joe were some of the East Coast rappers who attended the funeral service of the Mobb Deep rapper, who passed away last week at the age of 42.

The ceremony was held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel. According to TMZ, Questlove and chef Eddie Huang were also there, while Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan showed up in a giant SUV procession. It's said that Prodigy's rapper partner Havoc also attended the ceremony.

50 Cent took to Instagram to share a photo of him and Farrakhan at the somber event. "I never spoke at a wake or funeral before but I felt like I had to say something at P's," the "When It Rains It Pours" rapper wrote. "Rest In Peace prodigy God Bless," he added.

Following the ceremony, a public service was held for fans. They gathered in front of the church to mourn their loss. Prodigy, whose real name was Albert Johnson, died last Tuesday in Las Vegas after he was hospitalized "for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis," according to his rep. The exact cause of his death is yet to be revealed.
