The prosecution demands that the 'Bang Bang Bang' hitmaker receive two years of probation with the possibility of a 10-month prison sentence if he commits a repeat offense during his probation period.

AceShowbiz - T.O.P of Big Bang attended his first trial at the Seoul Central District Court on Thursday, June 29. The 29-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to all charges against him, admitting to using marijuana four times after initially saying that he only used it two times.
"I have been suffering from anxiety and depression for a very long time. My unstable mind state and thoughts made me act wrongly. I have made a mistake that I cannot undo. This all happened in the span of a week. It was the worst week of my life," he said. "I am regretting it down to my bones. I am sincerely embarrassed and promise this will not happen again. I will take all punishment and treat it as a life lesson. I will live to serve."
Besides pleading guilty to all charges, T.O.P indirectly revealed that he was dating the woman he smoked marijuana with. "At the time of the incident, T.O.P was psychologically unstable and met the woman for drinks. He was very drunk at the time and decided impulsively [to smoke marijuana]," his lawyer stated. "After breaking up with the woman, T.O.P stopped smoking marijuana."
The prosecutors are seeking two years of probation for the "Doom Dada" rapper, with the possibility of a 10-month prison sentence if he commits a repeat offense during his probation period. He will also have to re-enlist to the military during his probation time.
However, people feel that his punishment is way too light. "Two years of probation? Has it always been this lenient for marijuana?" a commenter writes on an article on Nate. "This country is a mess. He lied that he only smoked twice but only comes out with probation," another adds.
T.O.P will receive his final sentence on July 20.
