AceShowbiz - "Aquaman" has officially added "The 100" actor Michael Beach in a potentially significant role. Deadline has reported that Beach will play a supporting key character named Jesse Kane, who is said to be "part of a group of high-seas hijackers who has a fateful interaction with Aquaman."
The casting news seems to rule out the possibility of Beach's character being the father of the upcoming DC movie's villain, Black Manta. While Warner Bros. says that Beach will play the member of the hijackers, fans have been speculating that the actor will take on the role of the villain's father.
The speculation first sparked after Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who will portray Black Manta in the James Wan-directed superhero flick, posted on his Twitter account a photo with Beach last month in Australia, where the movie is currently in production.

However, Beach neither confirmed nor denied the speculation when asked if he's playing Black Manta's father, simply responding by saying, "Yes or No ... correct!" In the New 52 storyline, Aquaman inadvertently kills Black Manta's father after Manta attacks him and his father. It's unclear if this will be the "fateful interaction" the character description is referring to.

Beach's casting reunites him with lead actor Jason Momoa. The pair previously starred together on "Stargate: Atlantis". In "Aquaman", Beach will also join Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Dolph Lundgren among other cast members.
The movie is set to be released in U.S. theaters on December 21, 2018. James Wan is directing from a script he co-wrote with Will Beall and Geoff Johns. It is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
