'Venom' to Feature Carnage as Its Main Villain
Movie

The psychotic character is an alien Symbiote, just like Venom, who attaches to a serial killer named Cletus Kasady.

AceShowbiz - "Venom (2018)" will reportedly feature Carnage as its primary villain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eddie Brock, who will be portrayed by hunky actor Tom Hardy, will be facing off against the psychotic character in the upcoming movie.

In the comics, Carnage is an alien Symbiote, just like Venom, who attaches to Cletus Kasady, a serial killer who shares a prison cell with Brock. After Brock manages to escape prison by using the Symbiote, some of it is left behind and attaches to Kassidy, transforming him into Carnage.

The Symbiote amplifies Kasady's psychotic nature while also imbuing him with an array of powers akin to Venom's. Those include shape-shifting, physical strength that's more powerful than Venom and Spider-Man combined, and the ability to plant thoughts into people's minds.

The Hollywood Reporter has also reported that, even though "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star Tom Holland is only contractually obligated to two sequels, the plan is to still bring him into the spin-offs, like "Venom", and potentially other Marvel movies.

"Venom" is scheduled to be released in theaters across the U.S. on October 5, 2018. Serving behind the lens will be "Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer, while Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are producing the movie.

Meanwhile, fans can watch Tom Holland portray the web-slinging superhero in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" which opens in theaters on July 7. He is also set to appear alongside other Marvel characters in "Avengers: Infinity War" which is set for a May 4, 2018 release.
