Styles, Gomez and Cara score three nominations each, with the 'Bad Liar' hitmaker competing against the 'Scars to Your Beautiful' songstress in all three categories.

AceShowbiz - The first wave of nominations of this year's Teen Choice Awards has been announced. One Direction star Harry Styles and Selena Gomez dominate the music nominations with three nods each. Other big names in music who appear on the list include Drake, Beyonce Knowles, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and more.
Harry Styles, who recently kicked off his career as solo artist, is nominated for Choice Male Artist and Choice Song: Male Artist for his debut solo single "Sign of the Times". The British heartthrob also scores a nod in Choice Rock Artist category, which is also vied by massive rock musicians, such as Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots.
Meanwhile, Gomez is nominated for Choice Female Artist, Choice Song: Female Artist for her latest song "Bad Liar" and Choice Collaboration for her duet with Kygo, "It Ain't Me". Alessia Cara also collects three nods. She is up against Gomez in all three categories.
Following behind with two nods are Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Hailee Steinfeld, Luis Fonsi, Justin Bieber and Zedd. Styles' bandmates Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson get a place in one category each. Horan is competing against Styles in Choice Song: Male Artist category with his single "Slow Hands", while Tomlinson is nominated for Choice Collaboration for his collaborative track with Steve Aoki, "Just Hold On".
Other music nominations which will be announced in the coming weeks include Choice Pop Song, Choice Breakout Artist, Choice Next Big Thing, Choice Summer Song, Choice Summer Music Tour and more.
