AceShowbiz - Details of the tragic car accident which killed a standout contestant, Dr. Brandon Rogers, in current season 12 of "America's Got Talent" were revealed. TMZ reported the crash occurred when one of Brandon's friends, who was driving the black Mercedes-Benz, fell asleep at the wheel.
The driver told Maryland State Police that he was tired and fell asleep. He drifted onto the right shoulder and veered off road before crashing into a tree in Maryland on Saturday, June 10. The driver told cops he'd recently finished a long shift at work. The site further reported that the driver pulled both passengers out of the car.
During the accident, the driver and another friend, who was riding in the backseat, survived. Meanwhile, Brandon, who was riding in the front passenger seat, died from his injuries the next day in a hospital. Authorities were said to believe that no drugs and alcohol were involved.
Brandon was scheduled to appear in an upcoming July episode of the NBC talent competition. He was discovered by producers who saw his incredible cover of Boyz II Men's classic "On Bended Knee" on Instagram. It hasn't been decided whether "America's Got Talent" will air Brandon's segment, but his family reportedly said they would like the performance to air.
