'Avengers: Infinity War' Taps 'Black Panther' Actress Danai Gurira

The actress may reprise her role as a ferocious female warrior named Okoye from Chadwick Boseman-starring 'Black Panther'.

AceShowbiz - "Avengers: Infinity War" has tapped "Black Panther" and "The Walking Dead" actress Danai Gurira to join its growing cast. According to Deadline, Gurira may reprise her role as Okoye from "Black Panther". The character is one of ferocious female warriors who keeps an eye on the royal family of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa.

Gurira is best known for her role as samurai sword-wielding Michonne on "The Walking Dead", for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress on Television at Saturn Awards. Back in 2015, Gurira wrote a play titled "Eclipsed", which was nominated for five Tonys, including Best Play. Gurira will next be seen in Tupac Shakur biopic "All Eyez on Me", portraying Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018. As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality.
