Report said White House staff tried to keep Trump from live tweeting during Comey's testimony by keeping him preoccupied.

AceShowbiz - People couldn't help mocking Donald Trump as former FBI director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill on Thursday, June 8 about his meetings with the President. Celebrities like Chris Evans and Andy Cohen were among those who took to Twitter to react to the testimony.
"I've never wanted Trump to tweet so badly in my entire life. Pick your phone up! Do it!! DO IT!!!!" the "Captain America: Civil War" star tweeted. He later added, "I need 'Lordy, I hope there are tapes' on a t-shirt," referring to Comey's statement that he hoped his conversations with Trump were taped.

Actor/writer Andy Richter criticized Trump's supporters. "If you say Trump's inexperience is a legit alibi, you're admitting you voted for a POTUS who doesn't know how to be President. Good job!" he posted on Twitter.

During the testimony, Comey said that President Trump "lied" when he stated that he fired Comey because the FBI was in disarray and poorly led. "Those were lies, plain and simple," he said, adding that Trump "chose to defame me and, more importantly, the FBI."
Asked why he started to take notes after his first meeting with Trump, Comey shared that he "was honestly concerned he might lie about the content of our meeting, so I felt I had to write it down." Comey was also asked about Trump's request to drop the bureau's investigation into former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Comey said that Trump told Comey that Flynn "was a good guy," and asked him to "let this go." While he said that he took Trump's words as "a direction" that he should drop the investigation, Comey testified that he refused to do so.
Trump uncharacteristically remains silent on Twitter despite Comey's testimony that potentially damages his reputation. CNN previously reported that White House staff were worried that the President would tweet during the hearing, so they kept him preoccupied to keep him away from Twitter.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. responded to the hearing on Twitter as writing, "Hoping and telling are two very different things, you would think that a guy like Comey would know that. #givemeabreak." He added in another post, "So if he was a 'Stronger guy' he might have actually followed procedure & the law? You were the director of the FBI, who are you kidding?" The First Son dubbed the testimony as a "#NothingBurger."
