AceShowbiz - What mental health experts worried about "13 Reasons Why" may have come true. A 23-year-old Peruvian man, seemingly inspired by the Netflix series, committed suicide and left behind tapes for selected people, just like on the show.

According to Peruvian news outlet Diario Clarin, Franco Alonso Lazo Medrano, an industrial engineer, jumped from his apartment, which was on the fourth floor, after shouting, "I can't stand a heartbreak," with his mother witnessing it all. He survived the fall and was transported to the San Juan de Dios hospital, where he was later declared dead.

During investigation, police found a goodbye note to a loved one named Claudia, wishing her the best, and another note with instructions to deliver tapes that he had recorded on his computer to selected people, who are believed to have caused him to commit suicide.

There have been concerns that "13 Reasons Why" could glorify teen suicide, prompting several schools in the U.S. to send letters to parents to warn them about the danger of watching the Netflix series based on Jay Asher's best-selling YA novel.

Netflix responded to the backlash by including additional warnings before the first episode and strengthening "the messaging and resource language in the existing cards for episodes that contain graphic subject matter."
