People start to get suspicious of Alex (Gus Birney) after she becomes the only survivor to have navigated the mist.

AceShowbiz - A new official trailer for Spike's upcoming series "The Mist" has been released online to share new footage as well as raise a new mystery. The video opens with a glimpse of the life in a peaceful town, which suddenly takes a drastic turn when supernatural fog rolls over the town.

Families are separated and some are trapped in a local supermarket, while some murderous critters attack people outdoors. As they struggle to survive, people begin to turn against each other. "I'll do whatever it takes to get to my family," says Kevin (Morgan Spector).

"Everyone who's gone into the mist has died. Except her, except Alex (Gus Birney)," a woman says, questioning Alex's mysterious survival after a journey through the mist. A man shoots his gun as one says, "We have the rights to defend ourselves."

Toward the end of the video, Alex is seen coming face to face with a supernatural entity which appears to have connection to the mysterious happenings and the fog. Alex is the rebellious daughter of Kevin and Eve (Alyssa Sutherland).

Frances Conroy plays Nathalie Raven, who professes to have a kind of spiritual connection to nature and seems to understand why it all happens. Okezie Morro, Darren Pettie, Dan Butler and Isaiah Washington, Jr. also star on the drama series.

Based on the story by Stephen King, "The Mist" centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world and, in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.

It is set to premiere Thursday, June 22 at 10/9c on Spike.
