Erinn, who plays Kevin James' Kevin wife Donna, exits the CBS sitcom as the series heads into a different creative direction.

AceShowbiz - Another change has been made on "Kevin Can Wait". Leading lady Erinn Hayes will not be returning for season 2 of CBS' comedy. The exit comes as a surprise, considering that Errin played a major character.

The actress played Kevin's (Kevin James) wife Donna on the half-hour series. Her exit comes as the series heads into a different creative direction. The show hinted the new format in the season finale as Donna quit her job, which made both her and her retired police-officer husband out of work.

In response, Erinn took to Twitter to confirm the report as well as share her feelings after exiting the show. "True, I've been let go from the show," she confirmed. She added, "Very sad, I had a great experience season 1. Thank you for all the support from our wonderful fans."

The news comes a day after Leah Remini was announced to be joining the CBS sitcom as series regular for the sophomore season. Leah will reprise her role as wisecracking, undercover police officer Vanessa Cellucci, a rival of Kevin.

During its first season, the comedy pulled in 9.19 million total viewers and earned a 2.1 rating in 18-49 demo. The two parts of season 1 finale of "Kevin Can Wait" topped the scripted series of the night in the adults 18-49 demo.

"Kevin Can Wait" season 2 premieres on Monday, September 25 at 9 P.M. on CBS, before moving to its original 8 P.M. time slot beginning on Monday, October 30.
