Cher Attends Ex-Husband Gregg Allman's Funeral in Georgia

Cher looks somber she pays tribute to the founding member of the Allman Brothers Band before he's laid to rest.

AceShowbiz - Cher was among the mourners at the private service in Macon, Georgia to honor Gregg Allman. She looked somber in a white shirt and black skirt. The female singer wore dark shades and hat when showing up at Snow's Memorial Chapel.

Former president Jimmy Carter and many of Gregg's bandmates like Jaimoe, Dickey Betts and Derek Trucks attended the funeral as well. Some of the attendants slipped through the backdoor. Gregg's children and manager delivered eulogies at the service.

Thousands of fans lined the streets to Rose Hill Cemetery. The founder of The Allman Brothers Band was laid to rest near his older brother, guitarist Duane Allman, and late bandmate Berry Oakley. Gregg and Duane used to write songs among the tombstones at the cemetery.

Gregg Allman died at his house from liver cancer complications. The southern rocker married Cher after her bitter split from then-husband Sonny Bono. Cher and Allman had a son named Elijah Blue and recorded a duet album titled "Two the Hard Way". Shortly after his passing, she mourned him on Twitter, "I've tried...Words are impossible, Gui Gui."
