Leah Remini Joins 'Kevin Can Wait' as Series Regular for Season 2

AceShowbiz - "The King of Queens" reunion on "Kevin Can Wait" will be longer than fans have expected. After guest-starring in the two-part first season finale of Kevin James-starring comedy, Leah Remini will return as series regular for its sophomore season.

Leah guest-starred on the comedy as wisecracking, undercover police officer Vanessa Cellucci, a rival of Kevin. She will be reprising the role in the second season of the CBS sitcom, which stars Kevin as a married father who has just retired from the force.

During its first season, the comedy pulled in 9.19 million total viewers and earned a 2.1 rating in 18-49 demo. The two parts of season 1 finale of "Kevin Can Wait" topped the scripted series of the night in the adults 18-49 demo.

Kevin and Leah both starred on "The King of Queens" which ran for nine seasons from 1998 to 2007. After "The King of Queens", Leah starred on "Family Tools and "The Exes". She recently was tapped to topline female-centered remake of "What About Bob?" titled "What About Barb?".

"Kevin Can Wait" season 2 premieres on Monday, September 25 at 9 P.M. on CBS, before moving to its original 8 P.M. time slot beginning on Monday, October 30.
