AceShowbiz - The world will get a chance to collect late Carrie Fisher's and Debbie Reynolds' memorabilia. On Thursday, June 1, auction house Profiles in History announced that it would sell more than 1,500 personal items owned by the mother and daughter.
The auction will start on September 23, with some of the proceeds going to Debbie's mental health charity The Thalians. It will also go to The Jed Foundation, which is chosen by Carrie's daughter Billie Lourd.
"My mother and sister were magnificent collectors, they amassed an amazing and diverse collection in their lifetimes," said Carrie's brother Todd in a statement. "The size and scope of their collection rivals most museums. So in keeping with my mother's wishes we have decided to share part of their magnificent collection with all their friends and fans," he added.
Included in the auction items are Debbie's replica ruby red slippers from "The Wizard of Oz", a dress from "Singin' in the Rain", a life-sized C-3PO and a Princess Leia life-sized statue, which is completed with a blaster. Debbie and Carrie's 3.5 acre property in Beverly Hills, California will also be placed on the market following the auction.
Debbie was well known as a collector of Hollywood memorabilia. She opened a museum for her collection in Las Vegas in 1995, but then it was closed due to financial difficulties. Debbie held three auctions between 2011 and 2014, where she sold Marilyn Monroe's dress and Audrey Hepburn's dress from "My Fair Lady".
