The sci-fi drama from the Wachowski siblings ends up on the chopping block, joining another original series 'The Get Down'.

AceShowbiz - "Sense8" has got the axe. The sci-fi drama series from the Wachowskis, the masterminds behind "The Matrix", is canned after running for two seasons on Netflix. The cancellation comes just a week after another original series "The Get Down" was benched by the streaming service.

"After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end," said Cindy Holland, VP of Netflix original content. "It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kick ass, and outright unforgettable. Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world. We thank Lana, Lilly, Joe and Grant for their vision, and the entire cast and crew for their craftsmanship and commitment."

The show revolves around eight singular hearts and minds as they weave in and out of each other's lives finding deeper connections, learning darker, more desperate secrets about one another and struggling to identify with more than just oneself.
