The 'Teen Mom 2' star has reached a custody agreement with her mother Barbara over her 7-year-old son, feeling 'happy but devastated at the same time.'

AceShowbiz - Jenelle Evans has reached a custody agreement with her mother Barbara over her son, Jace Evans. Under the new arrangement, Barbara still maintains full custody of Jace, but unlike their previous agreement, the "Teen Mom 2" star now has a visitation schedule in place.

This means Jenelle will be able to meet Jace on weekends, holidays and during the summer season, something that she's grateful for. "I'm not restricted to when my mom says I can have my son anymore," Jenelle tells E! News, "and at the moment that's all I care about. [I] just want to spend time with my son. He will be home one day but today wasn't the day, sadly."

Jenelle's lawyer Heather D. Kaemmer also tells PEOPLE, "Barbara and Jenelle settled on a custody schedule that allows them to share time with Jace. The new order grants Jenelle specific periods of time with Jace so that Barbara no longer has the authority to determine if and when Jenelle can spend time with her son."

Jenelle and her mom Barbara have a tense relationship that is often documented on the MTV reality show. The 25-year-old tells E! News that she hasn't spoken to or "even looked" at her mother since the ruling and doesn't have plans to rekindle a positive relationship.

Revealing that she "burst out into tears in the conference room" when she heard the judge's decision, Jenelle says that she's happy that the case didn't go to trial, but she's devastated at the same time. "I'm happy but devastated at the same time that I didn't take it to trial. But in the world of Jenelle, you learn to pick and choose your battles," she opens up.

Jenelle, who has two other children, 2-year-old Kaiser and 4-month-old Ensley, says her relationship with fiance David Eason played a role in the court's decision. "Another big deal to the judge is that we weren't married, but he knew we were engaged," she shares.

The reality TV star is now looking forward to spending time with Jace on Memorial Day weekend. She plans to challenge the agreement in a year. "[I will go back] maybe in a year, but I want the judge to see this new order has been in effect and [I've] been complying with it no problems," she says.
