Michael Jackson's Songs Are Reportedly Not Allowed to Be Featured in 'Bubbles'
Movie

Since the project is unauthorized, Jackson's estate reportedly will 'round up the lawyers' if they hear Jackson's songs in the movie.

AceShowbiz - It seems like Michael Jackson's songs won't be featured in Netflix's "Bubbles". Sources close to Jackson's estate tell TMZ that the project, which screenplay is penned by Isaac Adamson and tells the life of the late Jackson from the perspective of his pet chimpanzee, is not authorized. Hence, any of Jackson's materials, especially his music, are not allowed to be featured in the project.

Another Jackson-related pic which is not allowed to use Jackson's music is the upcoming "Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland". Like "Bubbles", the movie is not authorized and Jackson's estate reportedly will "round up the lawyers" if they hear anything like "Billie Jean", "Thriller" or "Beat It" in the movie.

"Bubbles" will be co-directed by "Thor: Ragnarok" helmer Taika Waititi and "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" director Mark Gustafson. The Jackson pic will be produced by Andrew Kortschak and Walter Kortshak along with Dan Harmon's Starburns Industries. Adamson and Lee Stobby, meanwhile, will serve as executive producers. The film is expected to have the same style as Charlie Kaufman's "Anomalisa", which combined 3D printing and puppetry.

Jackson bought his chimpanzee Bubbles from a Texas research facility in early 1980s. The superstar frequently brought the chimp as his companion while traveling, which led to media mockery. His attachment to the animal was dubbed weird and was regarded to be one of his eccentricities.
