The Jack Sparrow and Captain Salazar of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' will play The Invisible Man and Frankenstein's Monster.

AceShowbiz - Universal officially announces its monster movie. Called "Dark Universe", it has Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem attached to play The Invisible Man and Frankenstein's Monster respectively. It will become their reunion following "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales".
The two join Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella and Russell Crowe who will launch the franchise with "The Mummy" reboot which is due June 9. Tom plays Nick Morton, Sofia is cast as the vengeful Egyptian princess who is brought back from the dead, and Russell portrays Dr. Henry Jekyll.

"The Mummy" will be followed by "Bride of Frankenstein". "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" helmer Bill Condon is hired to sit behind the lens. The movie is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2019 stateside. The female lead is yet to be announced.
"I'm very excited to bring a new Bride of Frankenstein to life on screen, particularly since James Whale's original creation is still so potent," the director said. "The Bride of Frankenstein remains the most iconic female monster in film history, and that's a testament to Whale's masterpiece - which endures as one of the greatest movies ever made."
It's unclear whether or not Vlad the Impaler portrayed by Luke Evans in the latest remake "Dracula Untold" will join the universe. There is no mention of Van Helsing, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Wolfman or The Phantom of the Opera either.
