AceShowbiz - As the finals are approaching, the number of "The Voice" season 12 contestants kept decreasing. By the end of Tuesday, May 16 episode, the number would be down by half, leaving only four singers to advance to next week's finals.
First to be announced as the first safe singer was Chris Blue (Team Alicia Keys), who earned two consecutive four-coach standing ovations. Before going to the next result, coach Adam Levine and Big Boi took the stage to perform their new song "Mic Jack".
Host Carson Daly later brought the artists back to the stage and revealed that Lauren Duski (Team Blake Shelton) advanced to next week's finals. Lauren had the number one spot on iTunes at the close of voting. Aliyah Moulden (Team Blake) was later named as the next safe singers, joining Chris and Lauren as season 12 finalists.
Before the big revelation, DNCE offered such a fun performance that night with their new hit "Kissing Stranger". The fun didn't last too long as Carson later announced that Jesse Larson (Team Adam), Hunter Plake (Team Gwen Stefani) and Brennley Brown (Team Gwen) had to sing once again for the Instant Save. It meant that TSoul (Team Blake) and Vanessa Ferguson (Team Alicia) were automatically eliminated.
Brennley was up first, singing ballad song "Warrior" by Demi Lovato. Hunter followed with his performance of "Love Runs Out" by OneRepublic. Jesse performed last with "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. Only one of the three singers would get final spot on the finals and Carson later revealed that America decided to save Jesse, the last remaining singer on Team Adam.
Jesse, Lauren, Chris and Aliyah will compete against each other to be the winner of the competition on Monday, May 22, while the result will be announced on Tuesday, May 23 at 8 P.M. on NBC.
