Of his return to host Oscars, Kimmel jokingly says, 'If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!'

AceShowbiz - Jimmy Kimmel will be back to host the 90th Academy Awards in 2018, which marks his second consecutive year hosting the Oscars. The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host will reunite with producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd in the upcoming ceremony.
"Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career and I am grateful to Cheryl [Boone Isaacs], Dawn [Hudson] and the Academy for asking me to return to work with two of my favorite people, Mike De Luca and Jennifer Todd," said Kimmel. "If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!"
Kimmel also took to Twitter to thank the Academy and jokingly say, "Thanks to @TheAcademy for asking me to host The #Oscars again (assuming I opened the right envelope)." He referred to the flub in the 89th Oscar ceremony, when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly announced Damien Chazelle's "La La Land" as the winner for Best Picture, whereas the accolade was supposed to be presented to Barry Jenkins' "Moonlight".

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said that Kimmel would be the perfect choice to host the next Oscar ceremony. "After just one year, we can't imagine anyone else hosting The Oscars. Jimmy's skillful command of the stage is invaluable on a night when anything can happen-and does," said Dungey. "With Mike and Jennifer at the helm, we're ready for another unforgettable show that will dazzle, delight and, most importantly, honor 90 years of Hollywood's most prestigious award."

The 90th Academy Awards will be held on March 4, 2018 at the Dolby Theater at Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood. The ceremony will be televised live on ABC.
