AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt has opened up about how he is "keeping the ship afloat" following his bitter split from Angelina Jolie. The 53-year-old actor got candid about his emotions and the status of his family in the midst of his divorce drama with the "Maleficent" star.

"I've got no secrets. I've got nothing to hide. We're human and I find the human condition very interesting. If we're not talking about it, then we're not getting better," Pitt told the Associated Press. He explained that he and Jolie are currently "figuring out the new configuration of our family."

"Kids are everything. Kids are your life," said the father of Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8. "They're taking all the focus, as they should anyway," the "Allied" actor continued.

Of his mental health state following the dramatic split, Pitt said, "I'm not suicidal or something." The "Inglourious Basterds" actor shared that "there's still much beauty in the world and a lot of love. And a lot of love to be given. It's all right. It's just life."
