The virtual band makes their comeback after prolonged hiatus by releasing a new album and performing on a number of shows this year.

AceShowbiz - Gorillaz is an English virtual band created by musician Damon Albarn of Blur and artist Jamie Hewlett. It consists of four fictional members which are not personas of any real-life musicians: 2-D as lead vocalist, Murdoc Niccals on bass, Noodle on keyboard and Russel Hobbs on drums. The band shot to fame after the release of hit song "Clint Eastwood" off their self-titled debut album "Gorillaz" in 2001.

The set sold over seven million copies worldwide and made the band land their names in the Guiness Book of World Record as the most Successful Virtual Band. Following their rising fame, they reportedly worked on a movie project, but it was later abandoned because no script was deemed good enough for the group. Gorillaz released their second album "Demon Days" in 2005, while their third album "Plastic Beach" and its follow-up LP "The Fall" were released in 2010.

After almost seven years on hiatus, the band makes their way back into the spotlight by releasing their fifth studio album "Humanz" in 2017. The set features 20 tracks and boasts appearances from D.R.A.M., Grace Jones, Danny Brown, Pusha T and more. Prior to the album release, the band had premiered several tracks off the set, such as "Saturn Barz", "Andromeda", "Ascension", "We Got the Power" and "Let Me Out".

The band is currently gearing up for their "Humanz Tour" and other shows this year. They will kick off the trek's North American leg in Chicago on July 8 and conclude it on October 15 in Miami before they head to Europe to visit some cities across the U.K. and Europe. Gorillaz is also scheduled to perform at Life Is Beautiful festival on September 22 to 24.

In addition, Gorillaz will participate in Jared Leto's Adventures in Wonderland, along with The Chainsmokers and other artists. "As our new client list shows, fans of all ages, generation and genres want to connect with artists in unique ways," CEO Jason Ojalvo said in a statement. "We are working with these acts to handcraft experiences that will resonate with their audiences and give them memories and stories to last a lifetime."
