"I have no interest. My memories are when we first started. It was a different time with Randy [Jackson], Ryan [Seacrest] and Paula [Abdul]. You can't recreate that," he said. "Last time I watched, it was not the same show, just the same name. I left for a reason and I never regretted that."

After canceled by FOX in 2016, "American Idol" is being brought back by ABC for 2017-2018 season. The original host is reportedly in talks to return to the show. He has just landed a gig as 's co-host, but she has given him permission to accept the "Idol" job. , the "Idol" winner from the first season, was rumored to be a judge on the show but she was announced to join "" as a coach instead.
