The 23-year-old singer will officially kick off his career as a solo artist on Friday, May 19, the day when the new track is premiered.

AceShowbiz - Mark your calendar, Liam Payne's fans! The wait is over because the British heartthrob has officially announced his debut solo single. He took to social media on Thursday, May 11 to preview the music video for the new single titled "Strip That Down" featuring Quavo. The long-awaited song will arrive on May 19.

In the video teaser, we can assume that the upcoming music is going to be a sexy banger. The One Direction star is shirtless in most scenes, showing off his toned and muscular body. With a series of "yeah, yeah, yeah" on the hook, we can definitely expect the song to be a summer hit. He captioned the short clip, "Mad excited to announce my new single Strip That Down ft. @quavohuncho out May 19th #STRIPTHATDOWN."

The collaboration is not a surprise, though, because Liam's collaborator, Quavo, has hinted at the song prior to this. The rapper claimed that they even had filmed a music video for the song. "I just came from a video today. My boy Liam from One Direction. We just shot that. Crazy vid. Crazy visuals. Crazy team," Quavo said. "Cool guy, nice guy. It's goin' up. I wasn't even supposed to say that. It's gonna be a surprise though."

The upcoming single could be the sign that Liam's solo album is slowly coming together. Besides Quavo, he is reportedly working with Zedd and Ed Sheeran for the project. "Liam wants his solo music to sound like a mix between Justin Bieber and Drake. It's definitely not going to be a hip-hop album," a source said of the upcoming album.
