In anticipation of the release of his solo album, the 23-year-old singer debuted the bluesy song during the live performance on Tuesday, May 9.

AceShowbiz - We're just days away from the release of Harry Styles's self-titled album "Harry Styles", and the British heartthrob has been steadily treating us to new music off the much-anticipated set. After the album's lead single "Sign of the Times", "Ever Since New York" and "Sweet Creature", Harry has now given us yet another taste of his debut solo album by performing new song called "Carolina" on "Today" show.

Donning a black shirt and bright pink suit, the One Direction star dazzled the audiences as he channeled his inner The Beatles to perform the new bluesy, rock-driven track. Backed up with slow-beat music dominated by rumbling rhythm and steady strums of acoustic guitar, Harry serenaded a good girl from a countryside in Carolina with his smoldering vocal.

"She's got a family in Carolina/ So far away, but she says I remind her of home/ Feeling oh so far from home/ She never saw herself as a west coaster/ Moved all the way cause her grandma told her/ Towns, better swim before you drown," Harry crooned.

The crowds at Rockefeller Plaza were in awe with the pop star's captivating performance. It looked like they were really excited to see their idol. Some fans even had been on the set for days. Alex Ficquette, "Today" 's plaza producer, told Billboard, "Our line started to form on Saturday afternoon. They were in sleeping bags, the line hit six city blocks this morning. I haven't seen it this crazy since Justin Bieber last year."

Harry signed a record deal with Columbia Records for his solo materials. Rob Stringer, the label's CEO, previously said of the project, "We're close and we're very excited. We have a record we're incredibly excited about and it's not far away from being ready. We obviously want everything to be beautifully done, because we think he's here to stay. Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who's authentic."

Following the release of "Harry Styles" on May 12, Harry is set to appear on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" for a week-long residency starting May 15.
