The Clooneys, who have three rescue dogs of their own, sent their donation to Camp Cocker Rescue in Sherman Oaks, California.

AceShowbiz - George Clooney and Amal Clooney have sent a wonderful gift to a dog rescue charity. The soon-to-be-parents have donated $10,000 to Camp Cocker Rescue in Sherman Oaks, California after the organization took in nine dogs from a backyard breeder.

Camp Cocker has expressed its gratitude towards the couple via its Facebook page. "Well, you can imagine how blown away we were when we heard that a $10,000 donation was pledged to our doggies. Our generous donors would feel so good to see their donation doubled by all of you, so for the month of May, every dollar you donate will be matched (up until we reach $10,000)," reads the post on the page.

"After we all did happy dances and cried with happiness for this unbelievable matching donation offer - we then asked the donors if (and only if they gave us their permission)...if we could reveal their names to our supporters in order to help us reach our big goal this month. They were so very gracious to give us permission to reveal their names. We want to thank George and Amal Clooney for their unbelievable donation and now it's time to turn to all of YOU to see if you can match it!!!!" the post reads.

Camp Cocker founder Cathy Stanley told PEOPLE about the situation before the donation came in. "We literally didn't know how we were even going to begin to start paying for all of these new dogs that we took in on the same day," said Stanley. And now, she feels an "unbelievable wave of gratitude" towards George and Amal.

George and Amal have three rescue dogs of their own. Two of them are spaniels adopted from Camp Cocker, named Louie and Einstein, while the other is a basset mix named Millie.
