AceShowbiz - To celebrate "Star Wars" Day, Jimmy Fallon premiered a mash-up which featured a great deal of clips from the films in "Star Wars" franchise. The video saw a bunch of "Star Wars" characters singing Smash Mouth's "All Star".
"In honor of May the Fourth, Jimmy re-edits footage from the 'Star Wars' films to make the characters sing 'All Star' by Smash Mouth," read the description of the video posted on the YouTube account of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".
Featured in the video are Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness/ Ewan McGregor), Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen/ Jake Matthew Lloyd), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Finn (John Boyega), Yoda (Frank Oz), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), Mace Windu (Samuel L. "Star Wars" Day is an event celebrated by "Star Wars" fans every May 4. The pronounciation of the date, May Fourth, is a play to "Star Wars" iconic catchprase "may the force be with you." Fans celebrate the event with costume parties, movie marathons and fun runs. This year's celebration marks 40th anniversary of the franchise.
Meanwhile, intriguing news about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" emerged on "Star Wars" Day. It was revealed that the ending of "The Force Awakens" was actually the revised version. Director Rian Johnson told EW that he asked J.J. Abrams and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan to change "The Force Awakens" ending.
"Yes... The big [favor] was, I asked if R2 could come with Rey, and if BB-8 could stay behind with the Resistance," said Johnson to EW. "Originally it was BB-8 who went with Rey, which makes sense for the story in a way. But I asked, 'Can you do me this solid and switch the droids?' " he added. The reason of the changing was Johnson wanted to use R2 more in the upcoming "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", but BB-8 would still play a big part in the movie.
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will hit U.S. theaters on December 15.
