AceShowbiz - Jason Momoa has taken to his Instagram account to share behind-the-scenes photos as "Aquaman" begins filming. The actor, who plays the titular role, posts a mirror selfie as well as a photo of him with one of the film crew members.

"Day 1 get tatted and kick some ass," Momoa writes in the first photo. "All my aloha to my crew and cast. Safe journey. Ready for this adventure. Cheeeeeehooooooooo aloha Arthur."

The second photo is captioned, "Me and Jen I love working with amazing artists. From our wardrobe to set design. From stunts to makeup. Truly an honor I'm a very lucky man. Aloha Arthur."

In related news, a teen actor seemingly has been cast for the role of young Arthur Curry. IMDB has added Otis Dhanji's name to the "Aquaman" cast list on the website and he will likely play 13-year-old Arthur Curry. Should Dhanji star in "Aquaman", the movie will mark his first feature film debut. Dhanji was previously appearing in the crime drama stage production "Mortido".

Warner Bros. previously announced via a press release that DC's "Aquaman" had begun its production. "Aquaman" official logo has also been revealed, depicting the iconic Trident and completed with bold white lettering.

The press release read, "Principal photography has begun on Warner Bros. Pictures' action adventure 'Aquaman', helmed by James Wan ('The Conjuring' films, 'Furious 7'). Jason Momoa stars in the title role, returning to the character he plays in this fall's 'Justice League'."

The press release announced that the filming would take place "mainly in locations spanning the stunning Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia, with extensive filming to be accomplished at Village Roadshow Studios." It would also be set in Newfoundland, Sicily and Tunisia.

Also starring in "Aquaman" are Nicole Kidman (Atlanna), Amber Heard (Mera), Patrick Wilson (Orm), Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko), Temuera Morrison (Thomas Curry), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta) and Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus). The DC movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 21, 2018.
