Some of Trump supporters think that the 'Late Show' host's oral-sex joke regarding the U.S. President and Russian President Vladimir Putin is homophobic.

AceShowbiz - Stephen Colbert lands in hot water following his controversial joke about President Donald Trump. The former "Daily Show" host has been skewering the president on his CBS late-night show ever since Trump entered the White House, but his remark on Monday, May 1 sparked #FireColbert backlash and a call to boycott advertisers of his "Late Show".
The comedian will take to his show on Wednesday night to respond to the criticism. According to a transcript of the May 3 episode, Colbert says, "Welcome to 'The Late Show'. I'm your host, Stephen Colbert. Still? I am still the host? I'm still the host!!"
Addressing the backlash, he says, "Now, if you saw my monologue Monday, you know that I was a little upset at Donald Trump for insulting a friend of mine. So at the end of that monologue I had a few choice insults for the president in return. I don't regret that. He, I believe, can take care of himself. I have jokes; he has the launch codes. So, it's a fair fight."
He continues, "So while I would do it again, I would change a few words that were cruder than they needed to be," referring to the oral-sex joke that was considered homophobic. "I'm not going to repeat the phrase, but I just want to say for the record, life is short, and anyone who expresses their love for another person, in their own way, is to me, an American hero. I think we can all agree on that. I hope even the president and I can agree on that. Nothing else. But, that."
On Monday, Colbert said during his monologue, "Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's c**k holster."
One of Trump supporters took to Twitter to slam the host, "Colbert explicitly mocks gay intimacy with the cover of mocking Trump. This is hate speech." The controversial joke also led to the launch of a new website firecolbert.com and a new Twitter account called @firecolbert.
