Sylvester Stallone May Star in More Marvel Films After 'GOTG 2'
Movie

'Guardians of the Galaxy' director James Gunn says that he and Marvel plan to see more of Stallone in the future.

AceShowbiz - "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" seemingly won't be the only Marvel movie Sylvester Stallone will star in. The 70-year-old action icon, who portrays Stakar in "Vol. 2", may reprise his role in more Marvel movies in the future, as director James Gunn reveals that he has a plan "to see more of him."

"My plan is to see more of him," says Gunn to Toronto Sun. It is unknown, though, whether Stallone will return for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3". "I'm not sure about him appearing in 'Vol. 3', we'll have to see about that, but it's our plan to see more of Stallone," adds Gunn. "Kevin (Feige) and I are working on what is going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it's going to go. We plan to see the rest of them in the future."

[SPOILER ALERT!] What Gunn means by "them" is the original Guardians crew which appears close to the end of "Vol. 2". The crew includes Michael Rooker's Yondu, Michelle Yeoh's Aleta Ogord, Ving Rhames' Charlie-27, a CG character named Krugarr, Miley Cyrus-voiced's Mainframe as well as Stallone's Stakar and Michael Rosenbaum's Martinex.

Meanwhile, Gunn has confirmed that he will write and direct the third installment of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie series. Gunn suggested that "Vol. 3" would be the conclusion of the story of Chris Pratt's Star Lord, Zoe Saldana's Gamora, Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon and Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer.

"I think the first three movies tell a single story and that story is pretty simple," Gunn says. "I think that there could be a 'Guardians Vol. 4', but it would not be the same. It would not be the same group...basically the story of this group ends with 'Vol. 3'."

Gunn later adds that he will still be involved with Marvel's projects for the next 10 years and Stallone will be a part of them. "It's my plan to have Sly-and I talked to him last night-to find a place for him in the future of the Marvel Universe," says Gunn.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 5.
