'The Nun' to Bring Back Bonnie Aarons' Demon Nun
Movie

The demon nun stole viewers' attention in 'The Conjuring 2' and will return in its standalone movie.

AceShowbiz - Bonnie Aarons will make a return for "The Conjuring 2" spin-off "The Nun". The actress will reprise her role as the demon nun which stole viewers' attention in "The Conjuring 2", The Hollywood Reporter reports. Plot detail for "The Nun" is still kept under wraps, but Aarons' demon nun will be the main character of the horror flick.

Earlier on, Oscar-nominated actor Demian Bichir was tapped to join the spin-off. Bichir will play a priest named Father Burke who is ordered by Rome to investigate a mysterious death of a nun. "The Nun" will also feature "American Horror Story" actress Taissa Farmiga.

Corin Hardy will helm the spin-off. James Wan, who directed "The Conjuring" and "The Conjuring 2", serves as producer along with Peter Safran. Wan also co-writes "The Nun" script with Gary Dauberman.

"The Conjuring 2" script originally didn't have the iconic demon nun in it. The character was added during re-shoots months before the movie was released, when Wan had an idea to reconcieve a demon. The terrifying appearance of the nun helped the movie earn a spectacular $320 million at global box office.

"The Nun" will start filming in Romania sometime in summer and will be released on July 13, 2018. Meanwhile, another "Conjuring" spin-off titled "Annabelle" has got a sequel. The sequel, titled "Annabelle: Creation", will hit U.S. theaters on August 11.

Aarons appeared in David Lynch's "Mulholland Drive". Her other movie credits include "Princess Diares" movies and Sam Raimi's "Drag Me to Hell".
