The Norwegian DJ teams up with the former Disney star to take the meaning of heartbreak to a whole new level through the dazzling visuals.

AceShowbiz - Kygo has finally released a music video for his collaborative track with Selena Gomez, "It Ain't Me". Directed by Philip R. Lopez, the video is stunningly heartbreaking as it sees a couple's journey through the hardest moment in life. With no appearance of Selena, the clip features a man who gets into an accident and his lover who dutifully stays by his side as he is unconscious in a hospital.

The man then begins his journey in his unconsciousness. He finds a forest full of fairy lights and meets a woman who looks like his girlfriend. The woman accompanies him in his long journey, while his real girlfriend sits on his bedside, worrying about him. The scene then turns to be playful as everyone dances joyfully.

At the end of the video, the man is awake with a butterfly on his head, but his girlfriend is nowhere to be seen. There's a major plot twist, though, when we realize that the girlfriend is already dead, and that she is the one who brings the man to life.

Although it has a very beautiful imagery, the concept of the video may surprise some fans because the video is more like a heartbreaking love journey instead of a gloomy breakup story like the song hints with the lyrics. A fan wrote below the video, "Now the song has a totally different meaning because of the video." Another fan commented, "It just doesn't fit the vision in my head."
