Get the First Look at Hot Rod in 'Transformers: The Last Knight'
Movie

AceShowbiz - The first photo of live-action Hot Rod in "Transformers: The Last Knight" has been unveiled. Making its way out via Entertainment Weekly, the photo features Hot Rod and Laura Haddock's Vivian Wembley.

In the picture, Vivian seemingly isn't really happy about her first meeting with Hot Rod. She looks like more than ready to fight against the autobot car.

In the movie, Hot Rod will be the autobot which secretly becomes Vivian's protector by disguising himself as 1963 Citroen DS owned by her father Sir Edmund Burton (Anthony Hopkins). "It's a rickety old thing, but she can't part with it because she adores it," Haddock opens up about Hot Rod. "This car has actually been put there to watch her and feedback information to Anthony Hopkins' character about what she's up to and her life. So yeah, she gets kind of taken [by surprise] in a really funny, dramatic way by this Hot Rod," she adds.

Of Vivian's relationship with her father, Haddock says, "She's not had a very good relationship with her father, but this is one thing that her father has done that makes her realize that maybe he cared than she thought."

It's unknown who will voice Hot Rod in "The Last Knight". When asked about the matter, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura says, "It's still in the works."

In 1986's "The Transformers: The Movie", dying Optimus Prime passed the Matrix of Leadership to Ultra Magnus, before it eventually went to Hot Rod (voiced by "The Breakfast Club" actor Judd Nelson). The autobot later became a commander under the moniker Rodimus Prime.

"The Last Knight" shatters the core myths of the "Transformers" franchise and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone.

The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), Bumblebee, an English Lord (Anthony Hopkins) and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is set to hit U.S. theaters on June 23.
