The EDM artist and the 'How Far I'll Go' hitmaker are involved in a beautifully tragic romance in the cinematic clip which was premiered on Tuesday, April 18.

AceShowbiz - Zedd has finally released the much-anticipated music video for his collaborative track with Alessia Cara, "Stay", which was released last February. The three-minute clip finds the German-born DJ and the 20-year-old songstress getting involved in a tragic love story. The cinematic visual beautifully depicts how any little moment could change our fate.

The video begins with Zedd and Alessia's uneventful morning. They always miss a chance to run into each other although they live in the same apartment. Then one day the plot changes, Zedd makes it to elevator and finally meets Alessia. Romance blooms from there. They start to spend times together, like going to diner and beach.

However, the end of the clip shows something very unexpected. Zedd is hit by a car and leaves his lover in tears. The clip is artsy with a very deep message. Many people say that it was inspired by 1998's movie "Sliding Doors" which explores how one small decision could have a big impact on someone's life.

"I think this song is right in the middle between where Alessia is musically and where I am and that's what's so exciting about it," Zedd previously said of "Stay" in a press release. "I've been trying to knock down barriers around music genres and this is another step for me to walk towards a musical future where I can create any genre I want without people putting me in a box."
