Ahead of the premiere of season 8, 'The Walking Dead' promotes Pollyanna McIntosh, Steven Ogg and Katelyn Nacon to series regulars while Jeffrey Dean Morgan reveals the production date of season 8.

AceShowbiz - Although it is still months away until the premiere of "The Walking Dead" season 8, the series surely has something up its sleeve for Steven Ogg, Katelyn Nacon and Pollyanna McIntosh's characters. The AMC hit series has promoted the three actors to full-time roles for season 8.

On the series, Steven plays Simon, Negan's right-hand man. Katelyn portrays Enid, a teenager who takes a role of Sophia in the comics. Sophia is the girl who becomes a daughter to Maggie after Carol's death. Pollyanna, meanwhile, plays Jadis, the head of the Heapsters who is loyal to Negan.

The promotions come after season 7 saw brutal ends of three characters, Steven Yeun's Glenn, Michael Cudlitz's Abraham and Sonequa Martin-Green's Sasha. The promotions don't come as surprises since the upcoming season 8 will see All-Out War arc in which Rick and the rest of the Alexandrians will fight against Negan's the Saviours and Jadis' group.

Meanwhile, a new report regarding the production of highly-anticipated season 8 has emerged online. Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan on the series, revealed the season 8 production date.

At the Walker Stalker Convention in San Francisco, California on Saturday, April 15, Jeffrey revealed, "We start shooting in 10 days." It means that "TWD" will kick off its season 8 production on Tuesday, April 25.

The actor further revealed that he hadn't read the scripts. He went on teasing, "I might be dead. Norman Reedus [Daryl Dixon] might be dead."

"The Walking Dead" returns in October for season 8. Exact premiere date and the first trailer will be revealed later in July at Comic-Con.
