Scott M. Gimple reveals that something bigger will be offered in the next installment of the AMC hit series as well as promises that it will 'melt people's minds and break their televisions.'

AceShowbiz - The big casualty in the season 7 finale that aired on Sunday, April 2 seemingly is only the beginning of something even bigger. When showrunner Scott M. Gimple appeared on "The Walking Dead" aftershow, host Chris Hardwick asked him to give fans a little insight into the next season.

"Every year you ask me that question," Gimple responded. "I say it's going to be bigger, it's going to be more intense. I say these things and I've meant them every year and I think we've actually accomplished that," he added.

He further continued, "This year, same thing. More intense." The showrunner, though, later said something intriguing about the next installment. He revealed, "The first 4 episodes will melt people's minds and break their televisions."

As for what exactly Gimple referred to, it remains to be seen. But it certainly will increase the already high anticipation from fans after they had their mind blown away by season 7 epic finale. [SPOILER ALERT!] Just like expected and rumored, the "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" featured the all-out casualty between the Alexandrians and Saviors.

Dwight came to Alexandria and warned Rick about the Saviors' arrival. Although Rick doubted him at first, Dwight eventually managed to convince Rick. The episode also confirmed fan theories about Sasha's fate as she turned into a walker after taking the poisonous pills from Eugene.

When Negan opened the coffin where Sasha was kept inside, the zombified Sasha came out and attacked him. However, a Savior rescued him and later got his face eaten instead. Shortly after, inevitable gunshots between Alexandrians and Saviors started with Ezekiel shouting, "Alexandria will not fall, not on this day!" Negan was seen running off when he ran out of ammo while Rick found Michonne still alive once the entrance was cleared.

AMC has yet to set the official premiere date for season. The official premiere date seemingly will be announced during San Diego Comic-Con in July.
