'The First Day of the Rest of Your Life' confirms the widely rumored casualty and reveals Eugene and Dwight's true allegiances.

AceShowbiz - A war broke out in the season 7 finale of "The Walking Dead". "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" that aired on Sunday, April 2 also revealed some betrayals, featured the much predicted casualty, and hinted that the Saviors' days on the show are still from over.

In the said outing, [SPOILER ALERT!] Dwight came to Alexandria and warned Rick about the Saviors' arrival. They initially doubted him, but Dwight said that he also wanted Negan dead and insisted that he could slow the Saviors down.

As Rick prepared for the Saviors' arrival to Alexandria, Sasha thought about Abraham in her confirmed space. When Negan unveiled his plan to Sasha, she begged that no one had to die. Later, Eugene and Sasha exited the Sanctuary together. Sasha wanted to be in the coffin that Negan would bring to Alexandria. Inside the coffin, she listed to "Someday We'll All Be Free" from her iPod and swallowed the pills that Eugene had given her earlier.

Once the Saviors arrived at Alexandria, Eugene led the group. When Rick asked where's Negan, Eugene answered, "I'm Negan." Rosita set the bomb for the explosives but they didn't go off. Jadis from the junkyard put a gun to Rick's head and her friends opened the gate for Negan. Jadis admitted she betrayed Rick because Negan offered her a better deal.

Negan then opened the coffin and a zombified Sasha came out and attacked Negan, but a Savior rescued him and got his face eaten. The Alexandrians used this moment to attack the Saviors, while Jadis shot Rick. When the Alexandrians were cornered, Ezekiel and his army arrived on horseback. "Alexandria will not fall, not on this day!" Ezekiel shouted.

Gunfire broke out again, Negan ran off when he ran out of ammo. The Hilltop, led by Maggie, also rolled in as the Scavengers hid out and the Saviors were fleeing. Once the entrance was clear, Rick found Michonne still alive.

At the Sanctuary, Negan asked Eugene how he thought Sasha died in the coffin, and Eugene said that she might run out of air because they sealed it tight. Negan later told the Saviors, "We are going to war!"
