The '21 Jump Street' actor will lend his voice to lead role, George Washington, in Netflix's first major animated feature film which tells the story about the founding of the country.

AceShowbiz - Netflix is developing its first major animated feature film titled "America: The Motion Picture". According to Deadline, the streaming giant has tapped Channing Tatum to voice the lead role, George Washington.
The R-rated revisionist history about the founding of the country will be written by Dave Callaham ("Godzilla") and directed by Matt Thompson ("The Xtacles"). Callaham and Thompson will also produce alongside Thompson's Floyd County partner Adam Reed. Besides starring in the animated pic, Tatum is also set to produce with his Free Association partners Peter Kiernan and Reid Carolin as well as Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Will Allegra ("The Lego Movie") under their Lord Miller banner.
"America: The Motion Picture" marks the very first animated flick for Callaham, who penned "The Expendables" franchise and currently is working on "Zombieland 2". Callaham also serves as showrunner on Amazon's "Jean-Claude Van Johnson".
"America: The Motion Picture" will see the second collaboration between Thompson and Reed. Both previously teamed up for an animated series "Archer", "Sealab 2021" and "Frisky Dingo". Tatum, meanwhile, is no stranger when it comes to voice-acting. The "Hail Caesar" actor was the voice of Superman in "The Lego Movie" and voiced himself on "The Simpsons" and Magic Mike on video game "Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff".
No premiere date has been announced for "America: The Motion Picture".
