The One Direction star will make his solo debut and perform his newest single which arrives next month on NBC's sketch comedy show 'Saturday Night Live'.

AceShowbiz - Good news, Harry Styles' fans. After the release of Styles' solo single preview, another surprise has come. The singer-turned-actor is set to make his debut solo performance on April 15 on "Saturday Night Live".

"SNL" alum Jimmy Fallon will host the episode while Harry will be the musical guest. The news was announced on "SNL" Twitter account on Tuesday, March 28. "Excited to announce @jimmyfallon and @Harry_Styles will be in Studio 8H on April 15! #FallonStylesSNL," so read the tweet.

Fallon apparently couldn't hide his excitement. Following the announcement, the host of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" jokingly tweeted, "So excited!!! A young heartthrob and Harry Styles will be on SNL together April 15th! #WhenHarryMetJimmy #FallonStylesSNL"

Styles' debut performance on "SNL" is scheduled a week after the release of his first solo single on April 7. This will be his first TV appearance since his group, One Direction, announced their hiatus back in 2015. Styles' former bandmate, Zayn Malik, and his fellow bandmate, Niall Horan, have been ahead of him with their solo projects.

Although fans are excited, the 23-year-old heartthrob is reportedly "terrified" of his much-anticipated solo debut. A source revealed Styles is worried that his solo single would not sell. "If his first single flops, then his solo career is over. Will he be the next Justin Timberlake or will he be like the others boys were once in a band with Justin that NO ONE can remember. This is hit big moment and he is SCARED," the source said.

Apart from music, the 1D's youngest member is trying his hand at acting. He has a role in Christopher Nolan's World War II movie, "Dunkirk". He will appear in the movie along with top actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh. The movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on July 21.
