The 'Parks and Recreation' duo will collaborate once again on the six-episode series, which is described as a celebration of artisanship 'who can create amazing things with their hands.'

AceShowbiz - NBC has ordered a new show which will see a reunion of two "Parks and Recreation" alums, Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. They are set to host the six-episode reality competition titled "The Handmade Project", featuring artisants who will compete to impress judges.

"I'm thrilled to be celebrating artists who make things by hand, and I'm looking forward to finally conquering my fear of paper mache," Poehler said in a statement on Tuesday, March 28. "People who make things are my favorite kind of folk. Practical, clever and terrific in a pinch," Offerman added.

"That makes me tickled pink to have a front row seat at this prodigious display of talent, and admiring and cheering on an amazing crop of American makers. Plus, Amy and I have a strong tradition of tomfoolery so let’s see if we don’t have some good fun," he continued.

The show is described as "a celebration of artisanship and the makers who can create amazing things with their hands." The new NBC series marks the first project hailing from Poehler's Paper Kite Productions, which co-develops the unscripted series with Nicolle Yaron.

"The Handmade Project" reportedly will feature eight artisans each episode. The artisans will be given a project and later will compete against each other to impress judges with their handmade crafts. In each episode, contestants will work with a different theme and be given hand-making items in different disciplines, including woodwork, quilting, knitting, scrapbooking, cake decorating and doll making.

Poehler serves as executive producer alongside Paper Kite's Brooke Posch, Yaron, Offerman, 3 Arts' Dave Becky and Anthony Dominici. Meanwhile, Universal Television Alternative Studio is set to produce the series.

"With millions of mass-produced products, a handmade item can be the most valuable treasure one can possess because it's one of a kind and made with love," said Meredith Ahr, Universal Television Alternative Studio president. "We are thrilled that Amy Poehler's first venture into the unscripted space is so refreshingly unexpected and original, and can't wait to see Amy and Nick back together again!"
