'It' Teaser and Poster Are Released Ahead of Official Teaser Trailer
Movie

Posted on 'It' official Twitter account, the teaser features a creepy sewer and what looks like the rags of Pennywise's red balloon.

AceShowbiz - Following previous "It" photos which were released on Monday, March 27, a new teaser has been posted on "It" official Twitter account. The teaser comes along with the announcement that first official teaser trailer will be unveiled on Wednesday, March 29.

While the teaser conveys simplicity, it delivers a great deal of creepiness. We can see a sewer which serves as an important attribute in the movie, as clown-shaped monster Pennywise often lurks in it before approaching its victims. The title of the movie, which seemingly is formed from the rags of Pennywise's red balloon, later materializes in the middle of the sewer.

To level up the creepiness, the teaser is set to haunting voices. One of the voices says, "I saw something," to which someone replies, "The clown. Yeah, I saw him too." A frightening laughter, presumably Pennywise's, comes afterwards. The teaser ends with an even creepier voice saying, "We all float down here."

A new poster has also been released, showing Pennywise handing a red balloon to a kid with yellow hood.

Directed by Andres Muschietti and based on Stephen King's novel, "It" follows seven children known as The Losers Club who have to face life problems, bullies and killer monster Pennywise. The clown monster haunts Derry, Maine, every 30 years and terrorizes its victims by exploiting their fears and phobias.

Back in 1990's, Pennywise was portrayed by Tim Curry on "It" miniseries. The killer clown will be portrayed by Bill Skarsgard in the upcoming movie and Muschietti promises that Skarsgard's take on the character will be "more terrifying."

"It" will be split into two movies, with the first movie being set to be released in the U.S. on September 8. The second movie, meanwhile, reportedly would start filming on March 17, six months before the release of the first film.

Also starring in the movie are Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, Sophia Lilis and Javier Botet. Gary Dauberman, Chase Palmer and Cary Joji Fukunaga write the script based on King's novel.
